Beautiful and colorful Boucherouite Rug, hand knotted by Berber artisans by using recycled textiles and fabrics.
A short history:
Boucherouite term comes from the Arabic "Bu Sherwit" which it means "a piece of used fabric". The Moroccan nomads began making this carpets during the 1960's and 1970's for necessity, not for fashion.
Strips of old cloth, wool and broken fibres are woven together to create something completely new and beautiful.
The patterns that are woven are symbols and motifs that are important to the tribes that make them.
